Shared Agendas for Circular Economy in the territory

How might we speed up the circular transition in a territory?

The Shared Innovation Agenda of the Foia de Castalla is coordinated by AIJU and IVACE. Its objective is to activate systemic change in the territory, so that a transition towards the Circular Economy takes place.

This Shared Agenda for Circularity promotes spaces for debate on the impacts on the territory. It also seeks to identify opportunities for social and technological innovation in the territory of the region, and to open up spaces for experimentation to create prototypes and pilot demonstrators.

AIJU had begun to work collaboratively with different actors in the territory: companies, public administrations and associations, among others. A series of lines of action had been defined within the circular economy, mainly waste and water. However, the process had slowed down, so how could we speed up decision-making in the design of circular economy projects?

Strategic design to streamline complex projects

In the process of creating sustainable projects in this Agenda, we have accompanied by facilitating agile dynamics of circular innovation, and providing communication support during the process.

Reactivating a collaborative process

To reactivate the collaborative process, define the sustainable projects to be carried out and create action plans, the first solution we developed was a Circular Design Sprint. This process was carried out with the different agents of the territory that were going to be involved during the process: companies, city councils, associations… Thus, we started to facilitate the co-creation of the future circular projects that are going to be implemented.

Design: visualizing and prototyping complex strategies

We keep creating and facilitating collaborative processes so that each meeting serves to move forward in an agile way. We make the ideas that emerge tangible, so that we define a roadmap that is clear to all stakeholders. We also provide communication support during the process, both internally, with the different stakeholders that participate in the projects, and externally, creating events and content about the progress of the process.

Thanks to this agile collaborative process, we facilitate:

  • Bringing the different stakeholders together and aligning them with the Agenda.
  • Prioritize the projects to be carried out based on their viability and impact.
  • Create and facilitate working groups for the development of each of the projects.
  • Designing roadmaps for each of the projects and accompanying their development.
